I have promised a good friend of mine a "Tinkerbell" outfit for her scrumptious little girl Ruby for ages now so today I finally made it. I hope it fit's it looks so small but she is on the small side so hopefully it will be ok.
I also made a Summer Day set for Lexie in a gorgeous blue/green flower print, It looks great and makes a pleasant change from the pinks and purples she is normally in.

More bags and a new swimming bag for Abbey.
It has been a long week with the kids back at school and all their activities and running around that goes with it, but I still found some time to make a couple of new bags.
I made a couple of new Funky bags and a few Funky Market bags too and I also have a few orders in for beach bags too.
This afternoon I made Abbey a swimming bag for her swimming lessons that start next week, I used a bright beach towel that I picked up cheap at Kmart and just cut it to the size I wanted and added a clear pocket on the front with a clasp. It worked out pretty good and might pick up another towel during the week and make a drawstring style.

Busy little vegemite...
As the title suggests I have been very busy today, the dancing year started today so i spent a good half of the day at dancing. It was great to be back and catch up with some lovely friends and also for the girls who miss their dancing terribly over the break.
I then came home and got stuck into my sewing. I secided to make a funky eco bag using extra thick interfacing to give it body, I usually use just the medium thickness one but never again as the extra thick is awesome and give such a great shape to the bags. The bag I made today was made using a chocolate cordrouy fabric on the outer and Micheal Millers Funky Flower print for the lining.
I also made a bag for Abbey to use for dancing to carry her shoes and other bits and peices for dancing classes. I made the body of the bag big enough to fit everything she needs in it and shortened the strap to suit her. I love this bag and so does Abbey.

New Bags..
Well I have survived the first week back to school and the early mornings and I am enjoying the extra time it is giving me to get some sewing done. Once Lexie starts full time I will be able to dedicate a day or two just to sewing...WOOT!
As for my bag making I have been having issues with the plastic sheeting and my machine grrr....so I have started making my Funky Eco bags minus the plastic sheeting. I actually think I prefer them like this. I use a stiff interfacing to give the bag body and shape and I am more than happy with the overall look of them.
I also made up some market style cross body bags that I am in love with. I made some up using calico and scrap fabric which I altered a few times until I was happy with the size, shape etc. Once happy with my creation I made some more in different fabrics and added a clasp and some fancy stitching to the strap for detail. These bags are so comfy and great for those times you need both hands free to do other things.
First Funky Market bags, made with calico.
These Funky Market bags have been made with contrasting fabrics and I have added a clasp. I have already sold the black and white one (o:
